Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

At Buletin Dharmas Andalas (BDA), we are committed to protecting the privacy of our authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.   • Reviewers: Names, affiliations, email addresses, and review history.
  • Editors & Editorial Board Members: Names, affiliations, and editorial roles.
  • Website Visitors: IP addresses, browser type, and cookies for analytical purposes.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

We collect and process personal data to:

  • Facilitate manuscript submission, peer review, and editorial decision-making.
  • Manage reviewer assignments and ensure a rigorous peer-review process.
  • Communicate with authors, reviewers, and editors regarding submissions, revisions, and publication processes.
  • Ensure compliance with academic integrity and ethical publishing standards.
  • Improve our journal's website, user experience, and security.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Access

We do not sell, share, or distribute personal data to third parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • Indexing & Archiving Services: Your published articles, including author names and affiliations, may be shared with indexing services such as (but not limited to) DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, and Arjuna.
  • Crossref and ORCID: Author metadata may be shared with Crossref for DOI registration and with ORCID to link author profiles to publications.
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law, we may disclose data to regulatory authorities.

5. Data Security & Retention

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Data retention policies are as follows:

  • Author, reviewer, and editor information is stored for archival and journal management purposes.
  • Manuscript-related data is retained indefinitely to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
  • Review reports are confidential and stored securely for journal record-keeping.

6. Rights of Users

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access and Correction: Request access to or correction of your personal data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of personal data not required for journal operations.
  • Objection and Restriction: Object to data processing or request restrictions.
